...and the storefront of M&M World
Most children love M&M's, but for this one, they hold a special significance. M&M's were our reward for successful use of the potty - one for one, two for two, three for both. She adorably called them 'emmies', and I attribute much of our potty training ease, speed, and success to her chocolate reward. In true Vegas style, the store was way too big with so much stuff, but did have an entire wall dedicated to varying types and colors of M&M's - we walked away with enough Peanutbutter, Mint, and Dark Chocolate M&M's to last the rest of the trip, including the flight home.
Along the way, these strange people grabbed Evelyn and held her for ransome to take a picture with her. Fortunately, these pirates were understanding and did not attempt to keep her hostage when I told them I didn't have any cash - or any other valuables, for that matter.
As we rode the escalator into the Venetian after our fun at M&M World, Evelyn excitedly told a couple in front of us, "I saw Batman and he asked us for money!" They laughed, and one shrugged to me, "You saw that Batman". We briefly discussed the ironic nature of Batman - the omnipotent Bruce Wayne - asking for money, until I most likely over-analyzed the situation to a no-longer-funny point. You most likely know how I do...
Our walk down the Strip gave us a simple day to prepare for the next leg of our trip and confirmed my resolution to never return to to Las Vegas again, except perhaps as a nonstop flight from BWI...
